CALL FOR ENTRIES: Clan Website Banner Image Design Competition
Dear Members of the Dysert O’Dea Clan,
We are excited to announce a design competition to create a new banner image for our Clan website at odeaclan.org. This is a wonderful opportunity for our members to contribute their creativity and help shape the visual identity of our online home.
Main Reasons for Having a Banner Image:
A banner image helps visitors immediately understand what your site is about and creates a strong first impression through visual storytelling. It also makes your website feel more professional and polished, breaking up text-heavy content while adding personality and brand identity to the site.
Current Banner Image:
What We’re Looking For:
- A banner image that captures the spirit, heritage, and identity of the Dysert O’Dea Clan.
- The design should be visually striking while reflecting our history and connection to our ancestral lands.
- The image could be a single panoramic image of an area at or near Dysert O’Dea, or it could be a composite image which includes recognisable landmarks from the area.
Submission Requirements:
- Image dimensions: 1770 pixels wide with a height of 180 pixels to 300 pixels.
- File format: TIFF, PNG, JPG, or JPEG.
- High resolution suitable for web display.
- Original artwork or properly licensed elements only.

Who can Submit an Entry: Members of the O’Dea Clan or members of the public (TBC). You can submit more than one entry.
Selection Process:
- Shortly after the closing date for submissions, members of the O’Dea Clan will be invited to rate each entry using a 5-star rating to show their approval:
- 5 Stars = Excellent.
- 4 Stars = Very Good.
- 3 Stars = Good.
- 2 Stars = Fair.
- 1 Star = Poor.
- The entry with the highest overall rating will be declared the winner.
- You can vote for your entry.
- Each Clan Member can only vote once per entry – members will need to login to the website to submit their votes.
Closing Date for Voting: TBD
The Prize: A cash prize of 200 Euro (about 340 AUD, 400 NZD, 325 CAD, 235 USD), or free registration for one adult to attend the next Clan Gathering in Ireland in 2028.
We encourage all members with an interest in design, photography, or digital art to participate. Let’s come together to create something that represents our proud heritage!
