At a ceremony at the O’Dea Castle during the 9th International Clan Gathering held in July 2014 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Maureen Carey from Adelaide, South Australia was inaugurated as Taoiseach (Chieftain) of the Dysert O’Dea Clan. She will hold office until 2018 when the next Clan Gathering is due to be held.
