Invitation to the 4th Dysert O’Dea Clan Association – Australian Reunion

Adelaide, South Australia: 7th to 10th April 2017



This is the fourth Australian Reunion organised in Adelaide for Descendants of the Dysert O’Dea Clan who emigrated from County Clare, Ireland in the 1800s and 1900s to all parts of Australia.


The current Clan Chieftain of the O’Dea Clan of Ireland is our own Maureen Carey who is an inaugural committee member of the reunion group based in South Australia and she would like to meet as many O’Dea descendants as possible.


Our program is once again about you with a great 4 day international event:

  • Learn more about your Irish culture.
  • Meet local and International O’Dea relatives.
  • Enjoy Irish dancing displays, Irish music with the Irish Inesheer Music group.
  • Learn a bit about your family tree.
  • Experience South Australian culture and our Southern bush scenery when you visit the picturesque McLaren Vale, the Hahndorf Village, and taste some wines at our great South Australian wineries.


Past, present and future Chieftains of the O’Dea Clan of Ireland will also be presentCome and meet them:

  • Past Chieftain from 2005 to 2008 – Mrs SUE POOLE, from Williamstown, South Australia.
  • Current Chieftain, Mrs MAUREEN CAREY from 2014 to 2018 from Adelaide, South Australia.
  • Chieftain Elect, Mrs Joan Koechig from 2018 to 2021, from the USA.
